About Me

With a Masters Degree in Counseling Education and a B.A. in Communications, Emily has been a College Counselor in the public and private school system for 8 years, as well as a licensed Independent Educational Consultant for 3 years.

Emily started her college counseling career in 2013 working as a school counselor in the Greenville County Schools system. After becoming well-versed in post secondary education and helping others achieve their dream school, she moved into a more intentional role of assisting students in 2018.  Previously, as a college counselor in a local private school, she consulted one on one with juniors and seniors, provided career counseling, course advisement, test prep, application assistance, essay review, letters of recommendation, scholarship management, etc. The biggest takeaway she imparts to students and parents is finding the right fit for life after high school.

Emily has been fortunate to walk alongside students and parents as they start the process of college planning.  She has seen her students accepted to Cornell, MIT, Northwestern, Duke, UVA, Chapel Hill and hundreds of others.  She has written countless letters of recommendation, actively visits college campuses and sharpens her relationships with admissions counselors across the country with memberships in NACAC, SACAC and IECA.

An important piece of the puzzle is working with underserved students in Greenville, SC. Emily actively serves as a Board Member for GirlUp GVL. Additionally, she serves Eleos GVL and the BelAire communities to break barriers and create equity amongst all students who wish to pursue postsecondary education.

Emily resides in Greenville, SC.  She’s an avid runner, sushi lover and cheers on the Clemson Tigers!
